Security Monitoring FAQ

Clear, search-friendly answers about live video monitoring, remote operations, AI-assisted detection, access support, virtual patrols, voice intervention, and reporting.

Live Monitoring

What is live video monitoring?

Live video monitoring is a remote security service where trained operators watch camera activity during scheduled monitoring hours, review activity in context, follow response instructions, and document important events.

Is live video monitoring only triggered by motion alerts?

No. Motion alerts and AI-assisted detection can support the workflow, but Gazer live monitoring is not limited to event triggers. Operators can actively watch priority camera views during the monitoring schedule.

How is remote video monitoring different from live video monitoring?

Live video monitoring emphasizes active operator watch during monitored hours. Remote video monitoring is the broader off-site workflow that can include live review, alert verification, virtual patrols, access support, and reporting.

Cameras & Setup

Can Gazer work with my existing cameras?

In many cases, compatible existing camera systems can be connected to Gazer’s monitoring workflow. A site assessment confirms camera compatibility, coverage, access, and configuration needs.

What camera views are most important?

Important views often include gates, entrances, parking areas, yards, perimeters, lobbies, garages, loading zones, trailer areas, and other risk points.

Does Gazer install cameras?

Gazer can review camera coverage and monitoring requirements, and compatible systems can be connected to the monitoring workflow.

AI-Assisted Detection

Does AI replace Gazer operators?

No. AI-assisted detection supports trained operators by helping surface activity faster. Operators still review context and follow the approved response workflow.

What can AI-assisted detection identify?

Depending on camera compatibility and configuration, AI-assisted detection can help identify people, vehicles, movement, access activity, and activity in defined zones or time windows.

Gate, Intercom & Access Support

Can Gazer support gate and intercom workflows?

Yes. Where compatible systems are available, operators can support gate, intercom, visitor, driver, and access workflows according to the property’s procedures.

Can operators verify drivers and visitors?

Yes. Operators can verify driver or visitor details according to the site workflow before access is granted or documented.

Can truck and trailer details be recorded?

Yes. For truck yards and logistics sites, operators can capture driver information, truck number, trailer number, visitor details, and access activity based on the monitoring plan.

Virtual Patrols

What is a virtual patrol?

A virtual patrol is a scheduled remote camera check where an operator reviews selected camera views, checks for unusual activity, and documents the patrol.

Are virtual patrols the same as live monitoring?

No. Live monitoring focuses on operator watch during monitored hours. Virtual patrols are scheduled camera checks. Many properties use both together.

Voice Intervention

What is voice intervention?

Voice intervention is a monitoring response where an operator speaks through compatible on-site speakers after reviewing activity and following the approved response plan.

Is every alert handled with voice intervention?

No. Operators follow the approved response workflow. Some events may require observation, contact notification, access support, escalation, or reporting instead.

Reports & Logs

What is included in an incident report?

An incident report may include the event time, camera or location, activity summary, operator response, escalation notes, access details, and other relevant information.

Are access events documented?

Yes. Gate, visitor, driver, intercom, truck, trailer, and access events can be documented when they are part of the monitoring workflow.
